Difficult times

Even before our season started we were destine to be Petoskey’s best team in schools history and go all the way. Along the way we have had our trials of ups and downs. Which started with many injures throughout the season. Another set back was the swine flu which set us back towards the end of our season. I was disappointed that this had to happen to our season cause this is what I have worked for all my years. This just proves that you don’t have power over how things work out to be.

Celebratory times

During the past four years I have been working very hard at achieving a personal goal in power lifting. This takes time and commitment on a daily basics. I hold numerous records in the state of Michigan. I hold the record squat for 16-17 year olds at 505lbs and totals record at 1270lbs for all 3 lifts. I have also made it to Nationals every year. I came in 2nd last year by losing to a kid from Idaho by 20lbs overall. There is no better satisfaction than achieving a personal goal that you set for your self.

Parents

Considering the changes in family dynamics across America today. I am very fortunate to be apart of a two-parent family. My dad has always been apart of my life both as a role model and teacher of life lessons. My dad always tells me to always learn from his mistakes he has made to my advantage to learn from. In highschool my dad was a very good football player but his friends really didnt play and they all had jobs to make them money. And he didnt and his parents wouldnt give him much. So he quit football to get a job so when he would hangout with his friends so he would've money. He always says "that was one of my dumbest decisions I made in highschool cause I could've done something with it but I didnt. I just wanted to beable to hangout with my friends and have a job so I could have money to do stuff." He tells me that I wont have to have a job if Iam doing sports cause he wants me to have fun through highschool and not have to worrie about that and not so just quit like he did cause his parents wouldn't give him money. As for my mom, she gives me encouragement and support. No matter how good or how bad or if I win or lose my mom will always be there for me in the good or the bad. After our last loss in football, she was crying cause she knew how I felt and she wanted to be there to support me in the lowest of time. She told me I did my best and I could've not done anything different. I realize I can always count on my parent for their support and unconditional love no matter what.

mysteries

Mike and I were on our way down to a track meet with coach Fralick on a glories Friday. We stopped to get something to eat at bill and carols. Mike said "I really have to go to the bathroom! Do you know if there are any inside." I said "no there are none your sol." Mike said "I’ll just go in between these two cars and tell me if anyone is coming" and he did. The next day after the track meet coach got pulled over by the cops. The police told coach "that he was exposing him self in public outside of Bill and Carols on Friday". That day at practice coach asked us "did you or mike do anything on the way down yesterday that I would've to get pulled over by the cops for," but of course we both said no. Coach said "well I got pulled over by the cops, they told me I was exposing my self in public!?" Coach told the cops that "I had two kids in the car with me" and thats when he told us he just thought of us mooning somebody walking by the store. Luckley the cops just let him go and told him the consequences but exposing your self in public and he said "that I will have a talk with those boys!," and went on his way. So now coach will never let me or mike go down with him to a track meet, but we always joke about that day and we will never forget it either.

Treasured photograph

My most treasured photograph is our football team all sweaty and muddy but full of joy after a big win against Ogemaw Heights. It was our first playoff win in over 10 years, and the feeling was intense. We were standing on the sidelines raising our helmets to the crowd in excitement and Kenny was in front waving the Petoskey Northmen flag with the crowd cheering and screaming. I can still see the large blue and white P flag floating through the air like a majestic eagle. I remember the 6 seniors on our team in the locker room after the game crying with excitement. I still remember Keith dancing on the benches in the locker room to wagon wheel and seeing coach just sitting by him self on the coolers taking in all the hype of the game, he was sitting there zoned out just think of his first playoff win ever in Petoskey. I will never be able to forget how I felt before the game with butterflies and then after the game with the intense feeling of a win. I will always remember that game and the enthusiasm during the game in the huddle of Kenny telling us never to give up and we will come out with a win tonight.

Treasured item

My Mickey Mouse blanket was my most treasured item when I was growing up. I can still remember the softness of the blanket when I would be covered up in it. It would feel like it was my mom holding me in her arms the feeling of warm and comfort. My blanket would follow me around like it was a part of my body. Dragging behind me. I will never forget how I would feel when I would be curled up in my Mickey Mouse blanket.

Boundaries

My home is where I go to be with my family and where my friends come to hangout. My home is where I can go to rest and be peaceful. My home is where me and my friends go and hangout and watch college football on the weekends and play Xbox. My home is where I can be myself and do what I want to do.

Assignment

My thoughts on about keeping a journal will be helpful to me. It will get me to think about different veiws of thinking and thoughts that I can look back to to remind my self about lost memories.

The things that I would like to write about would be about sports. Its easy for me cause I can just relate everthing back to football. I also like to do writings where you choose your own subject about a word put on the board.
